TEACHING AND RESEARCH INTERESTS

Prof. Weiser is coordinator of Zicklin School of Business real estate courses and teaches a three-course transactional real estate law sequence. In the sequence, students learn the goals of real estate negotiators and analyze easements, leases, contracts of sale, brokerage agreements and mortgages, working with actual commercial documents.
Real estate, bankruptcy and environmental law are among Prof. Weiser's research interests. He is writing an article on an intellectual property/law and economics topic.
A graduate of Columbia University (B.A., History, 1979; J.D. 1979) and Stanford University (M.A., American History, 1980), Prof. Weiser served as law clerk to Judge Henry A. Politz (U.S. Court of Appeals, 5th Cir.). He then practiced real estate law, most recently with The Prudential Insurance Company of America, where he was Regional Counsel with responsibility for major leases, sales, mortgages, bankruptcies and workouts.
