Dr. Kapil Bawa joined the Zicklin School of Business in 1999. Prior to that time, he
had taught at McGill University's Faculty of Management, at New York University's Stern
School of Business, and at the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University, and had
worked in the field of advertising.
Dr. Bawa currently teaches Marketing Research and Marketing Management. His research focuses on the modeling of consumer behavior.
Coupons, promotions and music are areas of particular interest. His work has
been published in leading marketing journals such as Journal of Marketing Research,
Journal of Marketing, Marketing Science, Journal of Retailing, Psychology and Marketing
and Marketing Letters, and he has also been an active reviewer for these and other
academic journals. His research has been supported by grants from the Social Sciences and
Humanities Research Council of Canada and the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute.
Dr. Bawa has presented his work at numerous academic conferences and has been an invited
speaker at a number of industry conferences and forums including the Marketing Science
Institute and the Conference Board of Canada. He has also taught at the People's
University in Beijing, conducted development programs for senior executives in Indian
corporations, and consulted on marketing research projects in India and the U.S.
